Knights of the Old Republic for PC? Mac?
(too old to reply)

Hello.
Today I received SW: Knights of the Old Republic from Amazon.co.uk,
which, according to my order, the invoice/receipt and the label on the
cover wrapping, was supposed to be SW: Knigths etc, for PC. However, the
cover reads "Mac", both on the back, on the line regarding age etc, and
under system requirements. Does this mean a) it is also playable on Macs
or b) I've got the wrong box? Could some of you folks out there please
enlighten me on this, by i.e. check your own boxes?

Best of wishes,

I'm pretty sure you've got the wrong box, but I haven't bought my Mac
copy yet so I can't check it.

There is a PC version and a Mac version. They're programmed and
distributed by separate companies a few months apart, and so it
probably isn't a dual-system CD. If it was a dual-system CD it would
have the minimum/recommended requirements for both systems on the box.

Try emailing them. You might have to return it, or they might simply
say it's not worth returning and send you the PC version as well. If
you get to keep the Mac version you could always send it to me. ;-)

Thanks a lot. I eventually came to the same conclusions as you did. And,
yes, I emailed them, and they replied it's not worth returning, and
suggested I gave it to charity or something. And as there is a Salvation
Army shop right across the street, I guess I'll just hand it over to
them. Unless you've got less than limited means, then. :-). OTOH, most
Mac users are pretty well off? :-) again.

Thanks a lot for your reply, one more time.

Well, my Mac *IS* about six years old, so I am "less than limited
means" ... otherwise I'd have a top-range new G5 with two 30" LCD
screens. ;-)
