KOTOR -- Tatooine troubles

Canderous has gotten a challenge to a fight in the Dune Sea, I also need to
find one of the assassin guild members near the Krayt dragon cave. However,
when I go to these areas, there's no one there.
I'm at the point just after the Levithian sequence.
Anybody know what the exact triggers are for these events?

Never mind, I found both. However the plot with Canderous still remains in
the quest menu as an active quest. Is there some follow-up to this, or did
I screw it up by killing all the Mandalorians?

I also had it show up as an active quest afterwards, as I recall. I am
trying to remember if it eventually went away as the game progressed to the
final stages.
