How to activate Recon droid in Star Wars BattleFront

My 11 year old son needs help with Star Wars Battlefront. Before spawning
the Sniper character, he sees the Recon Droid listed as part of his
equipment, but when in battle can't find a way to activate the Droid. For
example, it is not shown when cycling through weapons.

Could someone please give me a clear explanation I can pass on to him.

Hello Hello Mr Roger.
What ..your son..needs to do is push the L2 Button i believe and it
will switch the snipers secondary weapon from the grenades to the recon
droid. throw the droid like you would a grenade and you will then play
as the droid for a short time. The droid can shoot weak lasers,
detonate after its life is depleted, or you can hit L1 and the droids
life meter will go down. After it goes down completely the droid will
explode and large lasers will fall from the sky. Its great for taking
out clusters of enemies and works especially great in the very compact

Press G, then right click, once you are the recon droid you can right
click agian to fire space artillery>
